ANTON MICHAEL BADER
1950 Born in Munich.
Until 1954 lives in Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein), then Munich and Chiemgau (Upper Bavaria).
1970 – 76 Studies art education, drawing, printmaking and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (AdBK).
1977 – 2015 Works as an art teacher at various advanced secondary schools in Bavaria. Simultaneously pursues his own work as artist, primarily in the areas of painting, drawing and printmaking.
Stylistically, the works have developed from a photorealism in the 1970s to expressive and sometimes non-objective compositions.
2018 – 2023 Living abroad and artistic work in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
2023 Return to Marquartstein in Chiemgau.
Exhibitions and Performances
1980 Public performances “Eingriff in den Straßenverkehr” (Street-traffic intervention) in Chiemgau.
2010 – 2018 Participation in various group exhibitions in Chiemgau.
2013 – 2018 & 2023 Prien am Chiemsee, participation in the annual exhibition “Künstlerlandschaft Chiemsee” (Artists’ region of Chiemsee).
2010 Munich, Verein für Originalradierung: participation in the exhibition “Die Grammatik des Buches” (The grammar of the book). Printmaking-based artist’s book “20 LITRA HREINN APPELSINUSAFI / SKETCHES OF ICELAND” with 20 tetraprint images related to some trips to Iceland.
2018 – 2020 Ljubljana, Slovenia. Multiple works in Goethe-Institut Ljubljana.
2020 –20 21 Ljubljana, Slovenia. Work on loan to the German Embassy Ljubljana.
2022 Bled, Slovenia. Solo Exhibition at 'Galerija Stolp' at Bled Castle.
